Dr. Abu Eusuf
Dr. Abu Eusuf (Founding Director CBP and Professor, Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka)
Dr. Abu Eusuf is a Dynamic, Passionate, hardworking, promising academician and economist of Bangladesh, currently serving as Professor of Economics at the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. In addition, he is also working as Economist and Development Entrepreneur for Asia Foundation. He also served at least 24 research works as Team Leader and Consultant for various national & international organizations like World Vision, Care Bangladesh, DFID, UNDP, Action Aid, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities-USA, Asian Development Bank etc.
Dr. Eusuf has excellent academic track record. He achieved First Class 4th Position in Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) and first class 2nd Position in Higher Secondary (H.S.C) in respective board examinations. He stood first class first in both of his undergraduate and master’s degrees. In addition, he achieved MA degree from Institute of Social Studies (ISS)-Netherlands, as a fellowship of UNFPA. He achieved PhD in Development Economics from University of Manchester, UK with Commonwealth Scholarship. His PhD thesis was on “Dynamics of Urban Poverty in Bangladesh”.
Dr. Eusuf, as promising academician and writer, has written at least 25 article as Author, Lead Author and Co-Author in various national and international journals and Books. He has also written at least 10 newspaper articles on various national and international issues. He attended at least 22 international workshops and visited 26 countries on various occasion.
Dr. Eusuf is Founder and Director of ‘Center on Budget and Policy’ an affiliated organization of the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. He also worked as Coordinator, Master of Development Studies Program, Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. He is life time member of Bangladesh Economic Association.
His area of working interest is in Poverty, Budget, Trade, Microfinance, Social Protection etc.
